About Real Flight Simulator
Real Flight Simulator is for players who want more than point-and-fly. Before you leave the ground, you follow a startup checklist much like a real pilot: switch on the lights, set the flaps, spin up the engines, add throttle and release the parking brake.
Once you pass about 150 knots, you pull back to rotate and lift off, then raise the landing gear after climbing past 100 feet. From there the sky is yours to explore, and the engines and flight physics are modeled to behave in a believable way.
How to play Real Flight Simulator
- Z - lights, X - flaps and slats
- C - start engines, V - throttle up
- B - release parking brake
- Down arrow - rotate, M - landing gear
Playing Real Flight Simulator on a computer
Once you are past Play now and the PLAY menu, takeoff is a keyboard checklist. Z switches on the lights, X sets flaps and slats, and C starts the engines; let them finish spooling up. V adds throttle and B releases the parking brake. Past roughly 150 knots, press the down arrow to lift the nose, then retract the gear with M once you are climbing.
Playing Real Flight Simulator on a phone or tablet
Flying this simulator takes a keyboard. Takeoff alone runs through a string of letter keys plus an arrow for pitch, and the flight itself adds more, so there is no sensible way to do it with taps. Use a laptop, desktop or Chromebook. For phone sessions, the titles carrying a "Desktop and mobile" tag are the ones confirmed for touch.
On a phone right now? Try sandspiel, Kitty Toy and Burnout Drift - they are built for touch screens.
Tips and tricks
- Let the engine startup sequence finish before adding throttle.
- Do not rotate until your speed is above 150 knots.
- Raise the landing gear only after you pass 100 feet.
