About Basketball Stars
Basketball Stars, made by MadPuffers, turns basketball into a fast one-on-one showdown. You choose a team, enter a tournament bracket and try to outscore each rival with dunks, jumpers and long three-point shots.
Defense matters just as much as offense. You can block shots and even slap the ball carrier to knock him down and grab possession. A power meter above the court fills as you play, and once it is full you can launch a special shot from anywhere on the court that is sure to go in. Saving that move for a tight moment can swing a close game.
How to play Basketball Stars
- Arrow keys - move and jump
- Down arrow - block or pump fake
- X - steal or shoot
- Z - supershot when the meter is full
Playing Basketball Stars on a computer
Hit Play now, then press PLAY on the distributor's start screen; a short ad may run first. The arrow keys move your player and jump, the down arrow blocks or fakes a shot, and X steals on defense or shoots on offense. Hold Z in reserve until the power meter fills, because the supershot is the cleanest way to break a close game open.
Playing Basketball Stars on a phone or tablet
Basketball Stars is a keyboard game. Nearly every possession mixes the arrow keys with X, and the supershot adds Z, often while you are already jumping or driving, and none of that is set up for touch. Grab a laptop, desktop or Chromebook for this one. Phone players will find touch-ready sports titles under the "Desktop and mobile" label.
On a phone right now? Try Basket Random, Basket Battle and Boxing Random - they are built for touch screens.
Tips and tricks
- Hold the supershot for a tied game or the final seconds.
- Use a pump fake to bait your opponent into jumping early.
- Knock down the ball carrier to win possession back quickly.
