About Volley Random

Volley Random takes the basics of volleyball and hands them over to physics. Each side needs only one key to jump, while the loose ragdoll athletes flail in ways nobody can fully predict, which is exactly where the laughs come from.

The twist is right in the name. Each match can bring a different court, a different ball or even a different set of players, so a plan that worked earlier may fall apart on the next serve. Adapting fast is the real skill. Two people can compete on one keyboard, and touch controls bring it to phones and tablets too.

How to play Volley Random

  • W - jump for player 1
  • Up arrow - jump for player 2
  • Tap - jump on phones and tablets

Playing Volley Random on a computer

Each side has a single jump key: W for player one and the up arrow for player two. Press Play now, then the distributor's PLAY button. Your ragdoll athletes flail as they leap, so you are mostly choosing when to jump, not where the ball goes. A match may bring a new court, ball or setup, so watch the first rally before settling on a plan.

Playing Volley Random on a phone or tablet

Volley Random works with touch. Tap the screen to jump, which replaces the W key from the desktop version. Holding the phone sideways usually fits the net and both teams on screen better. Because the setup can change from match to match, treat each new court or ball as a chance to relearn when a jump should start.

Tips and tricks

  • Time your jumps so your players meet the ball as it comes down.
  • Take a second to size up each new court and ball before the rally starts.
  • Short, well-timed jumps usually work better than constant tapping.
