About n-gon

This side-view action roguelite is built on a full physics engine. You move through procedurally generated levels filled with hostile shapes, shooting them down while blocks, debris and bodies tumble around in response to every blast.

Created by developer landgreen and shared as an open-source project, n-gon shines in its upgrade system. Between fights you pick from a wide range of guns, field abilities and modifiers, and stacking them can produce gloriously broken combinations. Each run plays out differently, which makes it easy to come back for one more attempt.

How to play n-gon

  • WASD - move and jump
  • Mouse - aim
  • Left click - fire
  • Right click - use your field

Playing n-gon on a computer

n-gon uses keyboard and mouse together. Move and jump with WASD, aim with the mouse, fire with left click, and press right click to use your field. Hit Play now, then click the game once so it captures your input. Between levels you choose upgrades, and picking ones that build on each other usually beats grabbing a little of everything.

Playing n-gon on a phone or tablet

Playing n-gon takes both hands on a computer: WASD for movement and jumping, the mouse for aiming, and two mouse buttons for shooting and your field, often all at once. None of that maps onto a touchscreen, so use a desktop, laptop or Chromebook for n-gon. Phone-ready games on GN Math are marked "Desktop and mobile".

On a phone right now? Try They Are Coming, Time Shooter 3: SWAT and Giant Wanted - they are built for touch screens.

Tips and tricks

  • Use your field to block bullets and push enemies away.
  • Read upgrade descriptions closely, since some combos stack powerfully.
  • Keep moving so you do not get surrounded.
