About Protektor
Born as an entry for the Ludum Dare 46 game jam, whose theme was Keep It Alive, Protektor turns a simple bodyguard idea into a tense top-down shooter. Your job is to escort a VIP safely to the end of every floor while enemies try to stop you.
Ammunition is scarce, so instead of firing freely you have to grab bullets scattered around the level or taken from defeated foes. That limit makes every shot count and forces you to plan your route. The developer, rujogames, built it with Construct 2 and later expanded it with more levels, new enemy types, smarter AI and touch controls for mobile play.
How to play Protektor
- Arrow keys or WASD - move
- Z, X, Y or Shift - shoot
- Touch - on-screen controls on mobile
Playing Protektor on a computer
Protektor is a top-down bodyguard shooter from the Ludum Dare 46 game jam. Press Play now, then click once on the game so your movement and fire keys register. Move with the arrow keys or WASD and shoot with Z, X, Y or Shift. Your job is getting the VIP to the end of each floor alive. Ammunition is scarce, so stay near the VIP and make every shot count.
Playing Protektor on a phone or tablet
Protektor supports phones with on-screen controls for moving and shooting. Use them to guide your bodyguard through each floor and fire at anyone threatening the VIP. Landscape gives the top-down view more room. Ammo runs low quickly, so pick your shots carefully, and tap the upper-right X to exit full screen once the VIP run is finished.
Tips and tricks
- Pick up every bullet you see; ammo runs out fast
- Scout ahead for enemies so your VIP is not caught in crossfire
- Refill from enemy drops instead of wasting shots
