About Mad Day 2 Special
Mad Day 2 Special has a gloriously silly setup. Aliens have invaded Earth, and to make matters personal, they have kidnapped Bob's beloved pet octopus. Bob, a former Marine, is not the type to let that slide, so he heads straight into the invasion.
You keep moving forward the whole time, which means the challenge is reacting fast. Single and double jumps get you over obstacles and gaps, and rockets let you blast enemies before they become a problem. Runs are short and snappy, making it an easy game to pick up for a few minutes and then keep playing much longer than planned.
How to play Mad Day 2 Special
- Space - jump
- Space twice - double jump
- X or Up arrow - fire rockets
Playing Mad Day 2 Special on a computer
Bob keeps moving forward by himself, so your job is reacting. Press Space to jump and tap it again in midair for a double jump over taller obstacles. X or the Up arrow launches rockets at the aliens ahead. The run starts after Play now and the game's PLAY button. Rest one finger on Space and another on X so you never fumble between them.
Playing Mad Day 2 Special on a phone or tablet
Mad Day 2 Special uses the keyboard only, with Space for jumps and X or Up for rockets, and the build is not set up for touch input. Since you often jump and fire within the same second, physical keys make a real difference. Launch your rockets from a desktop, laptop or Chromebook; phone-ready games are marked "Desktop and mobile".
On a phone right now? Try They Are Coming, Coreball and Flappy Dunk - they are built for touch screens.
Tips and tricks
- Save the double jump for big gaps so you can still react to the next obstacle.
- Fire rockets at enemies early rather than when they are right in front of you.
- Keep your eyes on the path ahead instead of on Bob.
